Assign species groups at the calibration level, not the Species table

    Hey Rich,

Currently, it seems that species groups are tied back to the Species table. I think it would provide a lot of flexibility to users if groups could be assigned at the calibration level (CalibrationSpecies), since different properties, owners, and regions all group the same species differently. Even allowing multiple groups would be helpful, as sometimes operations, appraisers, and financial groups want different groupings.

    Thanks,

    Elijah

Do you mean choosing a species in a drop down? If you start typing it will filter as you type.

To add to this, too, I think it would be helpful to limit species options within a stand to those available in the calibration for that stand. That could be too restrictive, but it would make the dropdowns quicker to navigate when you have a large Species table.

I did notice that; I think that's probably efficient enough and less cumbersome.

Yes, species groups are a "master" kind of thing. Each species belongs to one group throughout the app. It's too limiting, I agree. Adding to species calibrations should be easy enough.

Species group has been moved to species calibrations in the upcoming version 2022.3.8. This means each species can belong to a different group in different calibrations.
