Metric Implementation

All my data is in metric (yes, we are from Canada!) Does Assisi support full metric implementation (including labels and titles on reports for example). All our inputs are metric (cm for DBH, m for heights, etc) and all outputs are cu.m. and cu.m/ha. Is this a configuration issue?

Brian, As of this date, Assisi has partially implemented metric. There is a database setting that switches the program between English and Metric. Although not fully implemented, much of the user interface changed to metric and many calculations use metric conversions and units internally. We will have to finish implementing a metric interface but it should not be too much work. The other consideration is making sure models and coefficients are done in the correct units. Many models are not available in both units. Many can be converted or input units converted on the fly. It can be the case that a metric inventory system uses combinations of units internally while exposing only metric units to the user. So the question becomes, what models do you have, are they metric and will you need to supplement these models with English models? Rich

  • Wanted to give a quick update on Assisi Cruiser, our upcoming data collector. Our prototype in PowerApps is working OK, but PowerApps has too many restrictions like meant to be online and can only share apps with members of the same computer domain. So now I am also prototyping in Xamarin: the cross platform (iOS, Android & Windows) tool of choice for most serious developers. It's going well and I should have something for others to test soon. Send me a note if you are interested in beta testing! Rich
  • Is is possible to change the BAF in the middle of a cruise?
  • This afternoon we are starting our seasonal inventory cruising program. Radial growth measurement. I would like a 5 year growth measurement. You have a field in Assisi for this, but I don’t see one on the spreadsheet. Just add it before the first segment call?
